Umelyateem Foundation is an independent Iraqi civil society organization established in 2008. It works to protect children, empower women, and develop youth capacities, with a focus on social justice and community participation.

Areas we work on
The foundation focuses on the most vulnerable groups, including women, children, internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, and host communities. It strives to empower them through comprehensive programs that include psychosocial support, education, capacity building, and livelihoods, in addition to supporting community reconciliation efforts and preventing gender-based violence.

Umm Al-Yateem Foundation works with civil society and governmental entities to promote protection, human rights, and peaceful coexistence. The organization operates across all phases: during acute crises, displacement, return, and throughout stabilization and reintegration. It covers the following governorates:
